Watercolour Congratulations using Birthday Blooms

Do you remember a few weeks ago I took part in the Simply Sketched Saturday Blog Hop!? Well, one of the lovely ladies that joins us very month is Ania from anna’s stampin’ cave, and she made this fabulous watercoloured card using Birthday Blooms – and I could not pass up the opportunity to CASE it!

Watercolour Congratulations Card using Birthday Blooms from Stampin' Up! UK

I haven’t watercolour-ed properly for ages! and felt really rusty doing this piece, but I am fairly happy with how it turned out. The flower itself is in Mint Macaron, with Emerald Envy leaves and a hint of Crushed Curry, while the background is in Sweet Sugarplum. The dappled effect is created by stamping over the image (once it was dry) using the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge, in Sweet Sugarplum, Crushed Curry and Whisper White. Birthday Blooms Watercolour Congratulations card Stampin' Up! The sentiment was heat embossed onto a strip of Watercolour Paper in white, and the water coloured in Crushed curry.
